Humsafar (Urdu: ہم سَفر) is a drama directed by Sarmad Sultan Khoosat,based on a novel (Humsafar) of the same name written by Farhat Ishtiaq. The story revolves around the trails and tribulations of a married couple: Ashar Hussain (Fawad Afzal Khan) and Khirad Ihsan (Mahira Khan). The drama airs on Hum TV and has gained a cult following globally and is critically acclaimed.

Mahira Khan (born 21 December) is a Pakistani video jockey and actress. Mahira has worked with the satellite channels MTV Pakistan and Aag TV. Mahira also starred in the Shoaib Mansoor film Bol.

Mahira did her "O" Levels from Foundation Public School in jhelum and went off to Santa Monica Community College in Los Angeles.she left medicine for the sake to accomplish her childhood dream of becoming a leading actress not only in Pakistan but across the globe. Mahira had never thought of becoming a VJ and was studying in Los Angeles, U.S.A. from whence she came to Pakistan to enrol at the Indus TV network for an internship in marketing.Currently doing famous drama Humsafar on Hum TV. she has also signed few mega bollywood projects with Karan Johar's 'i am miss khan", dhoom3 with Yash Chopra, Bansali's black and white with Shahrukh khan 

Mahira has hosted live shows called Most Wanted three days a week on MTV Pakistan andWeekend with Mahira on Aag TV. She has worked alongside other VJs like Anoushey Ashrafand Dino.

Khan had her film debut in Shoaib Mansoor's 2011 Bol co-starring Atif Aslam, Humaima Abbasi, Iman Ali and others. She has worked in Humsafar and Neeyat Her widely known serial Humsafar has gained instant recognition from critics and is currently one of the hit dramas for Pakistan.
